Barack Obama Re-Elected President

President Obama defeated Republican Mitt Romney in the 2012 presidential election.

President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden were re-elected Tuesday night, defeating Republican challenger Mitt Romney and his vice presidential running mate Rep. Paul Ryan.

NBC News called the presidential election for Obama around 10:15 p.m. and other media outlets quickly followed. The president sent a message on Twitter at 10:14 saying simply, "This happened because of you. Thank you."

The Obama campaign won the most expensive presidential race ever, with both parties raising about $2.6 billion. The race was filled with negative campaigning on both sides, from President Obama attacking Romney’s business experience with Bain Capital to Romney lambasting Obama’s handling of the economy.

The race tightened during the final months of the campaign, with gaffes and surges from both candidates. After a weak performance after the Republican Convention, Romney surged following Obama’s listless performance after the first presidential debate. Nevertheless, the president cemented a lead in battleground states heading into Tuesday’s election.

Obama also carried Wisconsin, according to projections from multiple national media outlets.

Obama’s performance in Wisconsin wasn't surprising, considering that a Republican presidential candidate hasn't won the state since Ronald Reagan in 1984.

Hey Dems, if you want to have a good time tonight, watch the Fox News coverage. It warms my heart to see them show clips of Obama backers celebrating under the sultry voice of Karl Rove trying to pretend Romney can still pull it out.

"Kewl"? Really? You're an embarrassment to humanity if you think the destruction of freedom and goodness is "kewl".

The country has proven that the tipping point has been reached. The free stuff crowd, the parasites, the liars, and the culturally embarrassing have begun to outnumber good people.

Those that understand societal movements knew the day would likely come. Decadence, immorality, and selfishness won. Welcome to the beginning of the end of America's glory days. The experiment worked for a while. Unfortunately, human nature (the ugly side of humanity) won out eventually.

Life in America will continue to decline. That's all we can look forward to since Obama's win will have negative effects on this country for a generation.

All Eight Of Sheldon Adelson’s Candidates Lost

http://boldprogressives.org/all-eight-of-sheldon-adelsons-candidates-lost/

Sheldon Adelson was the single largest private donor of election 2012. Incensed by his opposition to labor unions, his support for a far-right middle east policy, and an investigation into corruption in his casinos by the Department of Justice, he gave tens of millions of dollars to Super PACs like Mitt Romney’s Restore Our Future.

But sometimes, even billionaires can’t buy American democracy. The New York Times reports that all eight of the candidates backed by Adelson were defeated at the polls. These candidates include Shmuley Boteach, who made a long-shot run for Congress in New Jersey, Florida’s Allen West, and, of course, Mitt Romney.
