Two women — one from Caledonia — have been arrested on child abuse charges after Racine police say they encouraged three children at the day care where they worked to beat up a 2-year-old.

Woods and Hollins were each released on a $10,000 signature bond with the condition that she live with her mother and not have any unsupervised contact with minors. She is also not to be employed by any child care facility or school and is to have no contact with the daycare where the alleged incident took place.

The child was not seriously injured but was taken to Wheaton Franciscan St. Mary's for treatment. Our media partners at WISN 12 News report that when the mother of the victim picked the child up the day of the attack, she was told the child fell down. They also report the center's license was revoked on Thursday.

According to a press release from Racine police, officers were called to Bundle of Blessings Kid Kare, 2333 Northwestern Ave., on April 26 by the daycare director for reports of child abuse. The director told investigators that a video was on social media of three children beating up another child. The ages of the children aren't known, but the victim was a 2-year-old.

The video was taken on April 13 by two teachers — Woods and Hollins — who worked in the room and did nothing to stop the attack. Police say Hollins is the mother of two of the children involved in the incident.

This incident was first reported on Racine Uncovered Thursday. According to reports there, Woods and Hollins posted a video of small children hitting, stomping and kicking a two-year-old repeatedly. Both Woods and Hollins can reportedly be heard laughing and encouraging the attack.

Records from the Wisconsin Department of Children and Family Services indicate the daycare center had 55 violations in 2012. Some of the violations noted include electrical sockets without proper covers, bleach and knives "accessible to school-age children" in the kitchen, and failure to submit completed background check forms as required by state statute.

A complaint was also filed Friday against Woods for misdemeanor theft for which she was given a $1,000 signature bond.

Racine police continue to investigate this incident.
