Get Caught Up On Our Walmart Coverage

This isn't Walmart's first kick at the Caledonia can when it comes to pitching potential projects. But well before Walmart, the Village Board commissioned studies to look at what kinds of development would do well here.

Help me out here Denise: I see no notes from Land Use Plan meetings on the Village website since Jan 2012 Yet in May 2011 they discussed reviewing the Land Use Plan?? And get public input??? Was this ever done?? They received public input in 2005 both in the household survey and the focus group for the UWM study of the Village Center. Have they ever, since then, held a public meeting to get input about where/how the residents of Caledonia want to grow?

Let me correct myself-per the Village Agenda and Minutes, the Land use Plan Commitee has had 4 meetings with agendas from june 2011 through Jan 2012. No minutes from any.

I love how the folks claiming Patch didn't give the issue good coverage aren't here whining about the lack of coverage....

Or, apologizing. :) good work, D

Dear Keep on, the Land use plans were for the old Walmart location on State Hwy 31 & 4 Mile. This new location is on North Green Bay Road and 4 Mile (Between Warren Industries & The Mosquito Inn).
Two different locations, two different concepts, ideas and executions.

Quiet Conservative-the Land Use Plan is for all of Caledonia and yes, I am aware there is a separate determination of use for each subarea. The Land Use Plan Committee as I understand it was to be looking at some, if not all of these areas when discussing changes, best use, etc. And from the articles it looked like resident input was a consideration in this review. But I have yet to see any agendas or minute from these meetings. It may be an oversight on my part, but I have looked on several spots on the Village website.
