Man Charged With Smashing Out Tavern Window
Suspect tells police he was kicked out of Dead End Saloon and just wanted to check on his friend inside.
A 21-year-old Milwaukee man is facing charges after he allegedly smashed out a window at a Caledonia bar early Thursday morning.
Luis F. Mora was charged in Racine County Circuit Court Thursday with one count of criminal damage to property and one count of disorderly conduct. If convicted, he faces up to one year in prison and $11,000 in fines.
According to the criminal complaint:
At 3:01 a.m., Caledonia police officers were called to Dead End Saloon and when they arrived, they found the bartender arguing with a woman while another woman stood by and Mora was off to the side by a broken window with a clenched fist.
Mora told the officers his friend was in an argument with the bartender when he was kicked out of the bar, so he decided to smash out the window so he could see what was happening inside. He said he didn’t understand why police were called because he was just checking on his friend.
He was placed under arrest and one of the women came by and said to arrest her instead.
Mora is currently being held in Racine County Jail.
