Ready for another few months of campaigning and elections?

Hours after Gov. Scott Walker won a historic recall election, U.S. Senate candidate Mark Neumann was at the Republican Party of Waukesha County headquarters in Waukesha where he said the election means the voters want a conservative leader “with bold ideas on how to balance a budget by cutting government spending and ending Obamacare.”

“It is a fun, great day in Wisconsin. It is really fun to get up this morning and know the victory is about Scott Walker and his team and doing the right thing for this great state,” said Neumann in front of a group of his supporters. “What really is exciting is what it means for the future of the great state of Wisconsin. The message loud and clear last night is that the reforms that Scott Walker has started are helping Wisconsin to bring jobs back to the state.”

Neumann is running for election against a full Republican field, including former Gov. Tommy Thompson, state Assembly Speaker Jeff Fitzgerald and Eric Hovde. The Democratic candidates include Congresswoman Tammy Baldwin.

The primary election in the U.S. Senate race is Aug. 14.

Neumann spoke about pork barrel spending and his campaign plans to carry a piglet to symbolize the growing spending at the federal government. “Porkzilla” will debut in Madison on Wednesday at a President Barack Obama office in Madison.

“Porkzilla” is on the campaign trail because the previous piglet, “Mr. Favors” has grown to be about 140 pounds, Neumann said.

The problem with the country, Neumann said, is “wasteful, stupid spending.”

Neumann has a list of 150 items he feels should be cut from the federal budget. One of those items – producing Sesame Street episodes in Pakistan with tax money – has been cut by the federal government, he said.

“You need to understand why they stopped it,” Neumann said. “They found fraud in puppet land over in Pakistan.”
