Racine Woman Injured In Car Crash
Yet another car crash on Highway 38 and Five Mile Road. Be careful out there.
A 40-year-old Racine woman was taken to an area hospital for the injuries she received following a two-car crash at 3:18 p.m. Thursday on Highway 38 at Five Mile Road.
According to a report by the Caledonia Police, a 23-year-old Milwaukee woman was driving her 2006 Mercury Mariner westbound on Five Mile Road when she pulled out in front of an oncoming car. The 40-year-old Racine woman was driving her 2000 Honda Civic southbound on Highway 38 when it crashed into the Mercury.
The 23-year-old woman was not injured. Police cited her for failing to yield the right of way.

That stretch of 38 from the roundabout to 6 mile has a crash rate 2.6 times the state average. The best option is to run 38 parallel to the rr tracks and build it to the same standards as 794. You could link it to 794 at Ryan Road since they follow the same set of rr tracks. The access to Milwaukee is awful and it is hurting the economy of the whole metro Racine area.

There is nothing wrong with visibility at 5 Mile and 38. People just need to get their heads out of their butts while driving and look for other vehicles. And when people from the city are driving on suburban and rural roads, they need to realize that cars are traveling much faster.
