Yeah and any money the Sierra Club manages to get out of We Energies is going to be coming out of the pockets of We Energies customers.

Have they sued M.M.S.D. for dumping untold amounts of raw sewage into the lake? I suppose they are only concerned about CO2; oh wait I forgot that decomposition of organic matter is the largest generator of CO2 on the planet. Either way I am sure that the generation of power must be evil (sarcasm).

Sierra club is only worried about one thing.....and that is MONEY!

Either you people are stockholders or you do not live near the WE plant.So you really do not get to experience all the ash in the air and the harrassment from WE,Whether it be from the ashtanker trucks or the noisy construction vehicles or very noisy traffic in the form of harrassment!!!!!

Rudi Wendt, No one forced you to live near a power plant, besides when you were looking for a home, apartment, etc... you could have taken drive around the area or pulled out a map to see if there were things in the area that could have bothered you, then have looked elsewhere for a place to hang your hat.

When I bought my house I looked over the area for things that would have bothered me, but I've lived near Mitchell Airport my whole life, I know the noise it creates. I bought a house around it, and it doesn't bother me, but then again when my parents raised me they taught me a good amount of COMMON SENSE.

OK,Mr.Resident,YOU donot need to get personal.Wakeup and smell the ASH.I do have very good COMMON SENSE,my parents ARE very responsible and have worked very hard for what we have!So I will excuse you for being ignorant because you do not have a clue what is going on here unless you are one of WEs troll Or maybe you are one of the people harrassing us.I am 54 years old going on 80.This whole area was zoned agriculture when we BROKE GROUND in 1960.When we moved here the only sounds we heard was weeds and plants growing.The OAK CREEK POWER PLANT,again OAK CREEK POWER PLANT was WAY OUT by the LAKE until we were INVADED.The property we live on was nothing but a field,Every plant and what have you was put here from us.YOU just do not have a clue what YOU are talking about.The WHOLE STORY WILL BE TOLD IN THE COURTS!!!The WE plant did NOT need to expand.Power hungry people needed to expand.

Rudi, If there was a time machine where we could go back to when Oak Creek's motto was "City with a balance" I be the first one in it, but there's something called progress and no one can stop it. While I feel for you I have to ask, How would the Sierra Club and it's lawyers pocketing millions of dollars for flyash in the lake help you? They aren't going to build a sound proof dome over your property.

The ruthless way WE Energies went about expanding? It's THEIR LAND, WE Energies owns the land that their plant occupies just like I own the land my house is on. NO ONE tells me what I can and cannot do on my land as long as it isn't against the laws. As long as WE Energies follows the rules and regulations set by the Energy Department, the DNR and other agencies they have to report to, then NO ONE should have any problems with them. AND if they apply for an expansion and the various agencies approve, then they have every right to expand the facility on their land.

WE energies more or less purchased and took over all of our fabulous farmland. Look around.... Where is the Spang Farm? Look at the Michna farm. I cannot believe What us going on around them. Just because they want to stay on their homestead . The noise & pollution with the power plant and the sheriff shooting range is unbelievable. When We moved in the area 20+ years ago - it was quiet country. And YES you could hear the weeds grow. WE energies has had to hire a company the last 3 years to WASH the black coal dust off of My house... Wonder What mine and the WE neighbors lungs look like!!!!! With a high wind - I have SEEN the coal dust being stirred into OUR air!!!! Too bad air quality protection doesn't pay more attention.... To me - WE Energy is NOT following rules & regulations !!!!

You people that have such a problem living near the power plant seriously need to move! Wake up! This is the USA! If you don't like where you live for any reason, you are free to move. Do you really think that you're going to shut down a multi-billion dollar power plant that millions of other people depend on for there electricity. Quit your bitching and start packing!

I always wondered why some people do not use their hole name when posting a comment.Like do they have something to hide?Being USA,also means freedom of speech.How can people comments bother some so much?I do know the difference between right and wrong.And when their is a wrong I have the right to speak up.Nobody said to shut down the harrassing,polluting PP.But,I have to wonder is it Wisconsins responsibility to power the rest of the world?And take the hit of all the problems that happen,again and again.Too bad the PP can not extend all the way to your house.then WE could power the universe.We will probably have to since this world is going where the sun does not shine.PS,I do not mean across the street where I live.

The Sierra Club are the biggest HYPOCRITES I have ever known. They forget that the computers, I Phones, I Pads, solar cells for heat, hot water and electricity,and other pieces of technology have components in them that are made of materials that are bad for the environment, and that were taken from the earth using some of the most "ENVIRONMENTALLY UNFRIENDLY" processes, then processed into usable materials in "ENVIRONMENTALLY UNFRIENDLY" processes. The hybrid and electric cars they drive get some of the electricity from...OMG...POWER PLANTS...I know about how alot of these Items are made, and how the materials in them are made, because I work as a product designer in the electrical equipment industry. If they cared about the environment they would stop buying all technology, start riding bicycles, live in a cabin in the woods, write letters with paper and pencil, and live as environmentally friendly as possible, yet they choose technology over the environment.

mau,I am sorry.They bought all that property because they have too much money.I know the people who lived on hwy.32 and county line road.They decided to move because of noisey harrassing traffic noise.Guess who bought that property.Those nieghbors have lived there for 50 years.Somebody HAS to police the PP,That is why there needs to be a Sierra Club.

Resident,Oh boy how could I have been so wrong.Gee,no wonder I have been harrassed for over 3 years.And I thought we were being harrassed because they WANT our property.But I can not figure out why WEPP put a DIRTY ASH HILL right in front of our house then decided to carve a driveway through it.With that ASH HILL I can hear people talking as they are walking on the "pathway"All the traffic noise bounces off that STUPID hill.Oh,I am sure WEPP did not think about that,I AM SURE.
