Some Racine Unified School Day Schedules Will Change Next Year

Private schools participating in the voucher program now need more minutes in their school day. To accommodate transportation changes, several Racine Unified Schools will have different start/end times.

Some of the non-public schools' start and end times are being changed for the 2012-2013 school year and to accomodate the bus schedules several Racine Unified School schedules needed to be changed.

Patrick Starken, supervisor of transportation, explained to the that as vouchers became available last fall, many non-public schools that participated in the voucher program needed additional minutes in their school day.

Not having time to adjust for the current school year, a meeting was set up with the non-public school principals in October to discuss start/end time changes.
