Tom Weatherston Gets Spot On Veteran Committee For Assembly

62nd Assembly Rep.-Elect Tom Weatherston (R-Caledonia) will put his experience as a Vietnam War vet to work for state committee.

Representative-elect Tom Weatherston (R-Caledonia) was appointed as the vice chairman of the Committee on Veterans and Military Affairs by assembly speaker-elect Robin Vos on Tuesday.

Weatherston, who is also a trustee on the Caledonia Village Board, served in the Air Force in the Vietnam War. He’s active in his VFW post, serves on the local Honor Guard, and was past president of the Racine Area Veterans, Inc.

Weatherston said he is honored by the appointment.

“As a veteran myself, I look forward to dealing with issues that concern other veterans and military families in our state,” he stated in a press release. “With my long experience of being involved with local veterans groups, I hope to bring a unique perspective to the committee. I can’t wait to get started on what will be a very productive legislative session.”

Weatherston was recently elected to the 62nd Assembly District in November, which includes part of Racine, and all of Caledonia, Wind Point, North Bay, Norway and Raymond.

but where are his stands on other issues? I hope to hear more form him on such things as nullifying ObamaCare, replacing the state income tax with a sales tax, and other reforms that reduce the size and scope of state government.
