Union Pacific Railroad Track Shut Down After Car Gets Stuck On Tracks

Caledonia Police have to shut down the Union Pacific Railroad on Four Mile Road just west of Douglas Avenue just before midnight on Saturday after a woman got her car stuck on the tracks.

A woman got her car stuck on the Union Pacific Railroad tracks in the 3200 block of Four Mile Road on Saturday.

According to a report by the Caledonia Police Department, at 11:57 p.m. Erin Suominen, 25, of Racine, went around the barricades near the Four Mile overpass project and hit a gravel pile when her brakes didn’t work. The front end of the car was partially on the railroad tracks. Suominen got out of the car and called 911.

Police officers called Union Pacific Railroad to have the track shut down while the car was removed. Suominen was cited for failing to maintain control and violating a highway closed to travel sign.

Alcohol was not a factor in the incident.

People have been ignoring that sign for months at the construction site. I hope the next person loses their car to teach the other lawbreakers a lesson.

This is Erin who got in the accident and just saw what you ppl with no lives wrote. Yeah there was signs so I try to turn around but the brake line broke and I couldn't stop and then I ended up going over a cliff of stone right into the tracks I could have died or got hurt but all you care about is if I gotta pay well I guess you're short of cash if that's all you're worried about is money but I don't think about that part I'm just safe and my dog is safe just if you wanted to know but you people should put a sticker on the back your car that says I'm a heartless person so if I'm in distress don't stop for me because I'm a dick and I have no heart or feelings or concerns to help any other person but I guess some people just can't care about others but now I'm go to look up the rest you guys on public access and then I'll be sure to post 1 more message about the rest of you and then we'll see how you like it

Who passes jusdgement from a short story! Not someone with a FULL DECK. Find a hobby.. and one that involves building up others around you, not bringing them down because your unhappy with your own life.

1.) Turn the Engine off
2.) Put the vehicle in neutral
3.) Engage the Emergency Brake
4.) Any signs of issues of brakes in the past days/weeks?

This is Erin Suominen I just want to thank all of the kind words from some of you. It really made me feel better. I am really upset over the whole incident and embarrassed. I wasn't familiar with the area, it was dark

I was trying to turn around but my break lines went out so I went over the gravel and into the tracks. I was scared but mostly upset. I am a smart person with a caring heart to others. I am never in trouble with the law and I am very capable of reading a sign to all of u who made those smart remarks of me when u don't even know me. You try making a mistake that u didn't mean to make and here that it's in the news with your name, where u reside, and it's not even full of the true facts. Yeah it's not so nice! I do not appreciate the rude heartless remarks on me and my character when I'm nothing of the above. What matters is that me and my pup are alright. So all of these stories journalists write I have a great life

Oops darn hubbys phone is typing it for me but changing my words. Journalists should know the truth before they put a story such as mine out into public especially when your name is in it. I hope all of you ppl who were ignorant about it shut up now. Thanks again to all of my friends and family including the kind others who stood up for me. :) next time I hope you others can be more nice to the next person being ridiculed. Peace I'm done explaining myself to u ppl who are rude..

Wow. People must just be looking for a reason to hurt others. I did not know there were so many perfect people in the world. It must be stressful to go through life being sure to NEVER make a mistake.

thanks Kathy, Marie Johnson, and all of my friends as well as my fam for backing me up. Its nice to have some ppl in the world who care about my well being instead of knocking me down when it was a mistake. Its not like I planned to have my breaks go out, yeah. I have to thank the officer that was first on the scene, he was so nice and did his job well. He didn't make me feel like crap like some of you ppl who dont even know me or the whole story did. :-) thanks to the writer of the story as well. She fixed the story and wished me well.
