Vos Survey Shows Overwhelming Support For Republican Agenda

Annual questionnaire answered by 1,500 constituents

Many Republican policy positions are inline with the constituent wishes in Racine County, according to an annual survey issued by State Rep. Robin Vos.

Survey results, released by Vos on Thursday, were highlighted by an overwhelming amount of 63rd Assembly District respondents that said they were in favor of cutting state spending (70 precent) and property tax freeze (77 percent).

"The results were very in line with our legislative agenda from our spring session," Vos said in his newsletter that contained the survey results.

The survey was completed by 1,500 constituents. The methodology of the survey was not disclosed.

"One of the most important aspects of my job is to listen and respond to my constituents," Vos said in a statement. "This survey is just one way I get feedback from them."

The survey also showed about 80 percent of respondents who wanted SeniorCare cut and about two-thirds of the respondents answered that they are in support of expansion of school choice scholarships.

In terms of non-fiscal policy stances, more than 80 percent of respondents answered that they agree with voter identification measure that was approved this summer. Another 64 percent answered that they agreed with concealed carry legislation, which also passed this summer.

One of the most telling aspects of the questionnaire was respondents rating of elected officials. The rating was done in a five-point scale with with 1 being very satisfied, 2 being satisfied, 3 being somewhat satisfied, 4 being dissatisfied and 5 very dissatisfied.

State Senator Van Wanggard was given a rating of 2.7, Congressman Paul Ryan got a 2.2 and Vos received a 2.3. President Barack Obama received a 3.9.

It is impossible to get valid feedback for any survey when the questions are so leading, the results of this survey are so inaccurate as to be laughable. If Vos actually cared what constituents think, he would use a valid survey, but we know it's only ALEC who matters.

Sorry to hear that you found these questions so hard to understand Ann. I am one of the respondents to the questionnaire and fully understood the questions being asked. Do you want the State to cut spending? YES!!!!!!!!!! Your just upset because I'm not going to be paying for all of your benefits. But we are all still paying a good portion of them so maybe instead of Screaming Shame Shame Shame, protesting and trying to recall the elected officials that are doing whats right, YOU should be saying Thank You!!!

Yes I do thank the TEA-BILLIES for screwing the citizens of WI. because now they see that the campaign that Walker/Wanggard ran was a total lie and they are now in full force to take back our state. Remember Dean, we are a society not a prison so yes you will be paying for my benefits as I and every other taxpayer pays for yours.
Geez.

Key words - "The methodology of the survey was not disclosed. " A variation of the old expression, "Figures don't lie but liars can figure."

Heather, get out from under that socialist rock. My soon to be father in law got the survey, he is a dem. My neighbor also got one, he is the union steward at his shop. That's two with out asking to find any. If you were left out there might be a reason/. Oh and so you know...my neighbor both voted for and continues to support Gov. Walker. In fact he has a Walker for Governor sign in his yard...still there after all this time!

I know plenty of union republicans and some who even support Walker. There is certainly no shortage of people who consistantly vote against their own best interest.

ok...i am calling BS on you....you sit at your computer and spew your crap over and over again. Why do you feel it necessary to be so full of it? What makes you think your so special? What makes you think that your viewpoint is sooo much more informed then anyone else's? If it doesn't meet YOUR expectations it is wrong. Only you and your left wing nut job friends can be right. You and your ilk will just blog away until things are so convoluted that people can't even remember what the original story is. If you don't believe me...go back and look at past stories. Now the Caledonia Patch is being hi-jacked from liberal nut jobs that have no bearing on Caledonia issues...and YOU Heather are part of the problem!

A friend received a similar survey via email from her representative (a Democrat). It was sent to the same email address used earlier to write that representative expressing support. She showed it to me, and we both laughed and agreed that the survey was biased and leading (ie, Do you think affordable healthcare is important? Yes/No ) So - I would assume this survey was similar in composition and distribution - especially given the description of the methodology (not given). They sent it to a biased selection and are calling it a survey, implying that it's a widespread poll taken using scientific methods.

Rep. Vos's budget "tools" specifically exempt 70% of your Local Village budget from any Local cuts. The budget "tools" can only be used on about 10% of the Village budget - GOP math was simply wrong. Their "tools" DON'T cover their cuts. How do you recover huge cuts from only 10% of your budget?

That 70% the GOP didn't include in their math is... Salaries, Overtime, and Pension Contributions - for police and fire only. Read the Village Budget summary.

The GOP math was either incompetent, or deliberately misleading. I don't know which is worse, or why everyone is so afraid to even bring it up. The numbers are there, in black and white. Wouldn't some honesty and transparency about ALL costs benefit the overall discussion of these issues as whole?

I think they are cheating. They word the scale so it is too difficult for a us dems to understand and we just give the higher number to the guy we think is best. I wanted Obama to get the better marks! I knew I should have listened to the question carefully, then asked my union how I should have answered!
