Walker Recall: What You Need to Know Before Casting a Ballot
See the candidates that will be on the ballot, learn where to vote, and read a list of things to know about voting from the Government Accountability Board.
Voters across the state will head back to the polls Tuesday to choose between Gov. Scott Walker and challenger Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett.
Republican Gov. Walker faces recall after opponents turned in hundreds of thousands of signatures in an effort to boot him from office. Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch and four Republican state senators also face recall challenges.
Caledonia, Mount Pleasant and Sturtevant are in the 21st Senate District, which means Sen. Van Wanggaard also faces a recall. His challenger is former Sen. John Lehman, whom Wanggaard defeated in 2010, making this the second recall rematch on on Tuesday.
Races on the ballot are:
Governor: Scott Walker, Tom Barrett and Hari Trivedi
Lt. Governor: Rebecca Kleefisch and Mahlon Mitchell
21st Senate District: Sen. Van Wanggaard and John Lehman
Registered voters can find information about their polling place and the races on the ballot at the Wisconsin Voter Public Access website. To see the details, enter your name and birthdate in the fieds provided and then click your name to get to the voter information page.
The state Government Accountability Board is projecting voter turnout of between 60 and 65 percent, but Director Kevin Kennedy said turnout is hard to predict because the state has never had an election like this before.

FAQs about Tuesday's election
The Government Accountability Board, which oversees elections in Wisconsin, provided a list of answers to frequently asked questions about voting in Wisconsin. Here are some of the most important things to know.
Voter photo ID: The law is currently on hold as two lower court decisions stopping voter photo ID are being appealed.
Check your registration – Elections officials urge voters to use the state's Voter Public Access website to make sure that they are registered at their current address. Additionally, VPA will identify the races voters are eligible to vote in, and will tell voters whether they are eligible to vote within a Senate District that has a recall election. Voters who are unsure about whether they are eligible to vote in a state Senate recall primary or election should contact their municipal clerk’s office directly. If you have not registered to vote yet or you have a problem with your registration, contact your local municipal clerk’s office to check your options. You can register at the polling place on Election Day.
Know what proof of residence to bring: If you are already registered to vote, you will only need to state your name and address to receive a ballot, and are not required to provide any additional documentation. After stating your name, you will need to sign the poll list.
If you are registering at the polling place, make sure you have proof of residence and your Wisconsin driver’s license number. If you do not have a Wisconsin driver’s license, you can use the number from your Wisconsin ID card, or the last four digits of your Social Security number. Proof of residence can be established with a current lease, recent utility bill or other official document issued by a unit of government with the voter’s name and current address on it. A college photo ID is also acceptable if the institution has provided the polling place with a list of students who live in its housing and if the housing list includes citizenship information.
Avoid bringing undue attention or risk causing a disturbance: The state also is urging voters not to wear campaign paraphernalia such as campaign/candidate buttons, shirts, hats, etc. inside the polling place. Those who wear campaign paraphernalia may be asked to cover it up or leave.

That was a nice service. If you could also include a lie detector to sift through Walker's statements and what he has promised his billionaire donors if they can purchase his ticket to stay in power, it would be even better.

@Dark Star -
Congratulations on being the first and only commentator to turn an election guide partisan - you must be really proud of yourself!
And for the record, Democratic candidate Tom Barrett is far more dishonest than Walker is. Your problem is that you prefer to outright ignore and/or spin the facts to your personally desired conclusion and/or you purposefully choose not to expose yourself to the truth.
I think the critical exposure to liberal blogs that you expose your brain to on a daily basis is starting to have an adverse effect on your overall mental well being. Perhaps it's time for an intervention!
BTW - Could you please enlighten us by giving us just one example of something specific that a billionaire has received that would be considered out-of-the-ordinary from the state since Walker took office? Otherwise, knock off the generalized and unsupported crap that you're spewing on our boards!
Huh - for some reason, all I hear is crickets….

So you think Barrett is "far more dishonest than Walker is"? Your saying that you know Walker is dishonest, but you'll vote for him because the other guy is worse. Sad state of affairs in Wiscionsin. Credit Scott Walker for being a divider.
James, your an interesting one to claim " Your problem is that you prefer to outright ignore and/or spin the facts to your personally desired conclusion and/or you purposefully choose not to expose yourself to the truth." I respectfully submit to you that you are engaging in classic personal projection of oneself on to others..
I am an independent moderate who was recently a conservative leaning independent.
You want an example of something a billionaire got that was out of the ordinary? Sure, they are all over the place. When his billionaire non-taxpaying financial backer, Diane Hendricks, asked if they could ever get a totally red state among other things I'm sure you have seen the videos of Walker's plan to "Divide and Conquer" selected Wisconsonites. You ought to listen again to the fake Koch phone call too.
When the Governor tells you his secret strategy to divide and conquer your political foes, that is receiving something special indeed. That was not what he was elected for, and thus he deceived the voters and went into office with a secret plan to pursue an agenda favored by his billionaire donors from all over.
You should get a doctor to check out that cricket thing.

I'll respond to your crap analysis over on one of the other boards - repost this over on one of the political boards. Please keep this one non-partisan, as I've already asked you nicely to do!

OK James Hoffa, I'm happy to take this fact and logic checking exercise over to other political boards, but I didn't see where you asked anything "nicely", as you claimed. I'll accept that as your version of nice and tell you that you seem like you're probably a pretty good guy when your hair isn't burning from ideological brainstorms. Its OK, it happens to the best of us.
I'll respond elsewhere in an hour or two after I take care of some business, and then let it go and get out of your hair.

Well, I tried to go over to another board as you requested, but you couldn't contain your blind right wing fact manipulations long enough to realize it, so I'll answer you here one more time. I didn't know you were the bully God of the Board who is the equivalent of the guy who thinks he won the argument just because he shouted everyone else down. You seem practiced in posting falsehoods and right wing spin, but not so good at making cogent fact based arguments.
Your spin on the well known specifics I gave you is what I would expect from a defense lawyer who is practiced at the art of defending the indefensible. I see you employ all the common logical fallacies to defend your partisan arguments (www.logicalfallacies.com), but it isn't hard to point out your selectivity of facts, or your penchant for making them up. Your Karl Rove and Frank Luntz spin may get you somewhere with others, but I will call you on it if I feel like it. Almost every charge you make looks like you are personally projecting you own shortcomings and agenda on others. It's rank hypocrisy and not hard to detect or unravel.

Yeah, there's something you don't see everyday - a lefty liberal blog perpetuating a completely subjective opinion about Governor Walker.
Let's get REAL and stick to the OBJECTIVE FACTS, shall we? And please take the partisan conversation off this board. There are plenty of political stories upon which to comment on, as opposed to polluting this non-partisan special election guide.

You can interpret it however you want. You seemed to like citing Politifact, so I sent you a link that also cited Politifact. Their interpretation was that based on a standard survey of 50 questions, Walker was the least truthful of all Governors. Hence, he is the most dishonest. Res Ipsa Loquitur. The Facts Speak for themselves.
People are discussing his dishonesty, criminal investigation and his actions all over the nation. You guys are getting so many Koch, Hendricks, Adelson political ads up there that you can't seem to see the forest for the trees. I would say you guys may be about to be purchased by a cartel of billionaires, but that obviously happened when Walker slithered into the Governorship.

Please double check your list of polling places for Mount Pleasant. They do not coincide with the list shown in the Journal Times on the "sample Ballot" distributed yesterday. This could lead to some very confused and frustrated voters. Let us know which list is correct.

So one of my friends just told me that there are people driving black Suburbans around down in the poverty stricken areas of Racine. Apparently they are taking people to vote (maybe they could do the same for Voter ID)... Apparently one of these suburbans just dropped off a bunch of high school students down in the area of Walden School.
So apparently Lehman's get out the vote indoctrination tactics are working. I wonder how the dirtball sleeps at night? Thank you RUSD for allowing the staff to do whatever they please when it comes to your political announcements in the schools. If only they worked just as hard educating our children!

John Lehman would be a disaster . He has already proved that . Wish he would dodge this election like he did the war and go to Canada.
