Who Is Running The River Bend Nature Center?
Financial problems plague the operation and this has resulted in the buildings being closed.
The trails may still be open from dusk until dawn, but the buildings at the River Bend Nature Center are locked and no one is doing anything, according to a story in the Racine Journal Times.
A failed partnership between the YWCA and the Conservation League has left only a skeleton operation after the naturlist was laid off. The Conservation League said they wouldn't give them cash because they had a "limited business plan." To find out more, click on the link below.

I am a neighbor of River bend and volunteer there as well. The care taker is still putting his hours in but he is only one person. So if any of you have some time stop in and see if you can lend a hand. John is a great guy and really wants to see our beautiful River bend preserved.

what a sad story! Rier Bend has been a part of the RUSD science program for years. Can someone hire a naturalist for weekends?
