Be one of the first to participate in The Biggest Loser RunWalk Inaugural 5k/10k/15k in Racine on Sunday, Sept. 16.

This new event will feature a course that winds along the shores of beautiful Lake Michigan starting and finishing at Festival Park, 5 Fifth St.. From the first-time runner to the elite athlete, The Biggest Loser RunWalk 5k/10k/15k Racine encourages visitors and residents to hit the pavement and gear up for an inspirational event showcasing Racine and its award-winning North Beach.

The Biggest Loser RunWalk is licensed through the NBCUniversal Television Consumer Products Group and Shine America.

"We are thrilled to have The Biggest Loser RunWalk here in Racine," said Real Racine Events Director Kari Dawson. "We are proud to partner with the race to launch an initiative to get people healthy. Runners recognize Racine as a top Midwest location for endurance sporting events, and it is a perfect place for The Biggest Loser RunWalk to motivate people to develop and maintain healthy lifestyles."

"The Biggest Loser RunWalk" has partnered with Dan and Jackie Evans, season 5 contestants on NBC's hit show "The Biggest Loser," to offer the RunWalk as a non-intimidating environment for all participants, with longer course time limits to allow walkers to complete the race at their own pace. Participants will receive an exclusive The Biggest Loser tech shirt and finisher's medal.   

After the race, participants, family and friends can celebrate and relax at the finish line festival featuring a post-race concert by Dan Evans, who is now a Nashville recording artist.

On Saturday, Sept. 15, runners and the community can get inspiration at the Health & Wellness Meet and Greet. Features include packet pick-up, workshops from past Biggest Loser contestants, Biggest Loser Q & A and much more.

Football fans don't need to be concerned with scheduling conflicts because the Green Bay Packers are idle on Sunday, Sept. 16.

About 200 volunteers are needed to assist with the event. Tasks include staffing four water stops along the running course, on-course pointers, start and finish line assistance, participant check-in and bag check.
