Little Red Riding Hoodie

2519 Northwestern Ave, Racine, WI | Get Directions »
$6.00

The Racine Children’s Theatre ushers in the New Year with eight performances of “Little Red Riding Hoodie,” a fun and surprising adaptation, January 4-6, at the Racine Theatre Guild, 2519 Northwestern Ave. (Highway 38).

Forget the cape: this gal is updated, with a zipped-up hoodie. Little Red is hip-talking and karate-chopping, yet she values tradition and wants her grandma to teach her to bake. And like grandmas of today, this one isn’t old or feeble. She’s open-minded and doesn’t judge a book by its cover. You’ll never guess who else wants baking lessons from grandma. Someone who loves sweets and loves to bake, but never quite gets it right. Give up? It’s the wolf! He’s big, but not at all bad; in fact, he’s afraid of Little Red, instead of the other way around. And Red isn’t as trusting as her grandma. Will they be able to resolve their differences and make delicious desserts together?

“Little Red Riding Hoodie” is being presented on one weekend only, January 4, 5 and 6. Show times are Friday at 5:30 and 7:30 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday at 12, 2 and 4 p.m.

Since seating is by general admission, not reserved, patrons are advised to arrive at least fifteen minutes prior to curtain time. The elephant mascot of the Racine Children’s Theatre, Packy, introduces each performance. The costumed actors meet and greet audience members in the lobby afterwards.

“Little Red Riding Hoodie,” the second Packy Play in the 80thseason of Racine Children’s Theatre, is sponsored by SC Johnson Company and performed by Sunset Playhouse bug in a rug theatre of Elm Grove, Wisconsin.

The box office at the Racine Theatre Guild, 2519 Northwestern Avenue, is open from 12 to 6 p.m. on weekdays (except holidays) and 90 minutes prior to each scheduled performance. Tickets are $6 each for all seats and all ages. Packy Plays are designed for families with children ages 4 and older.
