Donate Blood And You Could Get To Meet A Green Bay Packer

In January, blood supplies run low and area blood collection organizations are offering up the chance to win a post season party with a certain Green Bay Packer player.

Want to win a party with Green Bay fullback John Kuhn?

Then you might want to roll up your sleeve and start donating blood.

The BloodCenter of Wisconsin joins blood collection organizations around the country to recognize January as National Blood Donor Month – a time to honor the generosity of donors who take time out of their busy schedules to give the gift of life.

BloodCenter is offering an additional incentive to donate this January, with its Run Your Route challenge extended to January 13. The challenge has area donor centers competing for a post-season party with Green Bay fullback John Kuhn. With just over one week left in the competition, the Racine and Manitowoc donor centers are tied for the lead.

Green Bay fullback John Kuhn is passionate about blood donation because of a serious motorcycle accident which involved his father in 1981. His dad, also named John, received several units of blood following the accident.

Donors are encouraged to help save lives and take part in the Run Your Route challenge. It’s a great way to give back to your community AND get a chance to meet John Kuhn.

Blood is traditionally in short supply during the winter months due to holiday travel schedules, inclement weather and illness. January in particular is a difficult month for blood donations and supplies often run dangerously low when needed most. With increased risks for injuries and accidents, each donation counts more than ever. This January, BloodCenter would like to encourage all eligible community members to participate in National Blood Donor Month and attempt to donate.
