It's Festival Time At St. Rita's

What started out as a harvest festival picnic, has grown over the years to include thousands of people.

is the last big party before the school year starts and it kicks off on Friday.

The 80-plus-year-old festival will be held from 5 p.m. to midnight Friday, Aug. 19, noon to midnight on Saturday, Aug. 20 and noon to 9 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 21 at the St. Rita Catholic Church grounds, 4339 Douglas Avenue.

“This is a festival about fellowship,” she said. “We bring together the community, and a lot of volunteers, some of them aren’t even involved with the church – they just enjoy getting involved.”

The event features four stages. They have bingo Saturday and Sunday. And there’s an entire tent for teens, and one for children.
