Residents Happy to Have 4-Mile Road Open

4-Mile Road just west of Douglas really is open now, and Patch has video to prove thanks to our readers!

Yes, it really did happen: 4-Mile Road west of Douglas Avenue opened Friday, and residents are posting on the Caledonia Patch Facebook page how happy they are to be able to use the road again.

Traci Mottl said, "I just went that way. Turned around and went under again Just because I could!"

"I did the same thing; went under it twice, saw a lot of other people doing the same," Carol Davis wrote. "We must want to make up for all this time we couldn't go that way. What a relief to have that open now."

Eddie Willing and Laura Giese both sent Patch short video clips (see attached) of their trips under the railroad bridge.

To show both his appreciation that the road is open and his annoyance with how long the project took, Kevin Groth proposed a honking campaign.

"How about the Honk 4 times on 4 mile campaign!" he posted. "Seems ridiculous but that main artery being closed for this long has been an incredible inconvenience!"
