National Day of Prayer

Everyone is invited to attend the Annual 61st National Day of Prayer event to be held outside on east deck of City Hall, 730 Washington Avenue on Thursday May 3, 2012 starting at 11:45am.  This year’s theme is; One Nation Under God.” 

Recording artist Cheryl McCrary & Heir-Born Band will present special patriotic music.  Alderman Jim Kaplan 4th District/U.S.N.R will open in prayer and also emcee the event, followed by Mayor John Dickert to read the City Proclamation.  Posting of colors will be presented by SFC Arroyo, and national anthem by Cheryl McCrary. Special time of prayer will be lead by various city officials and military personnel including Chaplain Cornelius Gordon Racine Youth Offenders Correctional Institute, Thomas Ginski, David Deberg State Chaplain Assistant Wisconsin Army National Guard as well as other participants.  There will be an opportunity for children to recite the "Pledge of Allegiance".  There will be a moment of silence in remembrance for our military soldiers and their families, a special performance of Tapps, followed by closing patriotic music and prayer by Racine Police Chief Art Howell.

People are welcome to bring their lawn chairs.
