Red Mountain Entertainment brings the Inaugural Top of the Hops Beer Festival presented by Leinenkugel’s to Racine on Saturday, May 12 at Racine Civic Centre – Festival Park.

Red Mountain Entertainment is entering their third year of producing the Top of the Hops Beer Festivals around the country. The Racine Civic Centre – Festival Park will be the newest spot on the Top of the Hops Beer Festival tour as they expand into the growing craft beer community in Wisconsin.

“The first time we saw Festival Park we fell in love with the setting,” said Jay Wilson of Red Mountain Entertainment. “It is a perfect venue for Top of the Hops.”

The Top of the Hops Beer Festival presented by Leinenkugel’s is sponsored by Abita Beer, Capital Brewery, Sierra Nevada Brewing Co., Samuel Adams, Hofbrau, Racine Marriott, DRAFT Magazine, Uncle Mike’s Pub and Real Racine.

“Real Racine is proud to help bring another quality event to Racine’s beautiful Lake Michigan shoreline. We’re looking forward to having Top of the Hops become an important part of Racine’s festival season for many years,” said Dave Blank, Real Racine president and CEO.

Top of the Hops Beer Festival will showcase the increasing popularity of craft beers from around the world. Patrons will receive a commemorative sampling mug and have access to unlimited, two-ounce samples of over 150 world-class, craft beers in the Abita Beer Garden, Capital Brewery Beer Garden and Sierra Nevada Beer Garden.

The festival also will feature the Samuel Adams Brew University Education Area where patrons will enjoy beer seminars such as Home Brewing 101 and Cooking with Beer. A very special edition to the Top of the Hops event is the Cask Beer Garden which features casks of limited edition, unfiltered beer. Live music, games and a special raffle benefiting the Racine Founders Rotary will all be part of the activities.

 “We are very excited to partner with Top of the Hops to help advance our mission to serve the community,” said Bill Seidel, Racine Founders Rotary Club President. “We know this will be a great event and the money raised will help us fund more projects that will benefit the people of Racine.”

The Uncle Mike’s VIP Ticket will gain patrons access to the festival one hour early to take advantage of a more exclusive beer tasting experience. The Uncle Mike’s VIP ticket allows entry into the private VIP Area with heavy hors d’oeuvres from 2 – 5 p.m. and an EXCLUSIVE beer selection not available to the general public. The Uncle Mike’s VIP ticket also includes a Top of the Hops Beer Festival pint glass.

Advance tickets to the Top of the Hops Beer Festival are $34.99 for General Admission tickets and $75 for VIP tickets.  There is also a General Admission Designated Driver ticket available for $20 and a VIP Designated Driver ticket for $30 for those patrons who will not be sampling beer. All-Inclusive overnight packages are available through the Racine Marriott.

Tickets to the Top of the Hops Beer Festival go on-sale Friday, March 23, 2012 at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster.com and at the Racine Civic Centre – Festival Park Box Office.

Top of the Hops Beer Festivals are produced in cities around the Southeast, including Mandeville, LA; Lafayette, LA; Greenville, SC; Louisville, KY; Jackson, MS; Charlottesville, VA; and Biloxi, MS. This year, Red Mountain Entertainment is introducing the New Orleans International Beer Festival at Champions Square and the Upstate International Beer Festival at BI-LO Center in Greenville, SC.

**Top of the Hops Beer Festival believes in responsible drinking and does not promote mass consumption. Local taxi cab companies will be made aware of the event in advance and taxi service phone numbers will be listed prominently in the festival guide. This is a non-smoking event.
