Evening with Black Violin Far From Stuffy

A night with Black Violin is no ordinary night at the symphony. Instead, be prepared to have this dynamic duo rock your socks.

The dynamic duo of Black Violin arrives in Racine ready to rock Memorial Hall with their impressive combination of classical notes, modern beats and hip-hop sensibility.

The show starts at 7 p.m. Oct. 11.

“Wil B” Baptiste and Kevin “Kev Marcus” Sylvester play the viola and the violin, respectively, and are classically trained. They've appeared on Broadway and recorded with some of the music industry's top talent, including P. Diddy, Kanye West, 50 Cent, Tom Petty, Aerosmith, Aretha Franklin and The Eagles.

On their website, www.blackviolin.net, Baptiste and Sylvester describe their music as, "two parts classical, two parts pop, with a splash of hiphop, served chilled ... a genre-busting collage that pushes the limits of music and dares listeners to think outside the box.”
