True Blood: Adventures In Vampire Babysitting

Lisa Brennan dishes on her favorite show.

This week Eric and Sookie work out an agreement while Bill renders advice and guidance to Jessica. Sookie also reconnects with Alcide while Jason becomes the hero. And Tommy once again becomes estranged from Sam. On the other hand Pam instructs Lafayette that if his demands aren’t met, retaliation may be in order. Marnie sets out to give her new powers a try. Eric upsets a get-together. This episode really got the season jumping for me and left me with lots of questions. Here is a link if you missed the episode.

After watching this episode twice to ensure that I did not miss anything, I began wondering. What is the significance of the doll that Jessica and Hoyt say they keep disposing of? Is Jason a were-panther? Can he be saved by anyone? Will Lafayette be able to deliver Marnie? Is Jason going to make tons of were- panther’s? When will Eric gain his memory?

I love a show that leaves you guessing and I think this week’s episode was well written. I really loved that Sookie was reading a Charlaine Harris novel -- I believe it's "Grave Secret," the fourth and last in her Harper Connelly series (which is worth reading). I have begun reading the novels. I find them enjoyable and special enough that I do not feel the need to choose between the books and the show.

My favorite character for this episode is Eric. He is so innocent sounding. I really think that this year his character will develop a lot. I do hope for some relationship or even a unique friendship with Eric and Sookie. I do not miss the Bill and Sookie relationship as much as I thought I might. But the characters really have transitioned so nicely. Maybe it helps that I know they are married in the real world.

I also love Kristin Bauer, after all she is a Caledonia native. But even better she makes one nice/bad vampire. I loved it when she told Lafayette that they have 24 hours or she was going to drink him. What did you think of this week’s episode any ideas as to how the season will play out?
