The critically acclaimed movie starring Meryl Streep and Philip Seymour Hoffman was based on this award-winning play, which won the 2005 Pulitzer Prize for Drama and the Tony for Best Play. A gripping mystery, this story starts with stern Sister Aloysius, a Bronx school principal, who suspects the charismatic Father Flynn of improper relations with a male student. Is he innocent or guilty? The play examines the line between gossip and truth, discipline and compassion, certainty and . . . DOUBT.
