Update: Water Main Break in Kremer is Fixed

**Updated 12 p.m. Aug. 6

The water main underneath Ellis Avenue in the Kremer subdivision has been fixed.

Caledonia Water Utility Manager Bob Lui told The Journal Times the break was fixed late Monday niight.

Water gushed out of a broken water main around 7:45 p.m. Monday, flooding parts of Ellis Avenue just east of Douglas Avenue.

Caledonia Utility officials shut off the water at about 10 p.m., which had already flooded several yards and at least one basement. Steve Miller, who owns the house at 1834 Ellis Ave., said he noticed water coming into his basement from at least three different spots.

Water was restored by 1 a.m. Tuesday, but the cause of the break remains a question, according to the story in newspaper.
