Racine AAUW - Sexual Stereotypes of Women in the Media

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

RACINE AAUW TO SCREEN FILM SEXUAL STEREOTYPES OF WOMEN IN THE MEDIA MARCH 19:

 The Racine Branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) will show the film Sexual Stereotypes of Women in the Media, on Monday, March 19, at 4:00 p.m. in the Racine Gateway Technical College Conference Center (Racine Building).

 A panel discussion will follow the film.  Although the program is open to everyone, middle and high school girls, parents, teachers and college students are especially encouraged to attend.

 The film illustrates some of the commercial, cultural, psychological and sociological forces that have shaped sexual stereotypes in the media.  Serving on the panel are Peggy Crane, Sociology Instructor at Gateway Technical College;Alyson Eisch, Supervisor of Instruction and Support at Racine Unified; and Carole Della Pia, Psychotherapist.
