French Canadian Dining Spot Debuts in Wauwatosa

Wauwatosa is home to the Milwaukee area's newest French Canadian dining spot — Shepherd's at 6715 W. North Ave. Formerly a sports bar festooned with memorabilia, Shepherd's has a new owner and has been transformed into a casually upscale restaurant and lounge. The menu features poutine, the classic concoction of French fries with cheese curds and gravy, and other meals inspired both by North Woods Wisconsin and French Canadian cuisine. Dr. Dawg Takes Over Old Hooters Spot

Dr. Dawg, a Chicago-style Italian beef and hot dog restaurant, is now open for business at the old Hooters location at 7700 W. Layton Ave. in Greenfield. Dr. Dawg is a family-style, fast-casual restaurant concept that offers more than just hot dogs. Standard comfort food is joined by healthier items that can appeal to health-conscious consumers, such as gluten-free, trans fat-free and many all-natural items. This location is the second one for owner David Ross. The Glendale Dr. Dawg opened in 2012. More from Greenfield Patch.

Muskego to Get Its First Starbucks

You may think that there's a Starbucks coffee shop on every corner, but it only seems that way. In fact, Muskego is one of the few communities in the Milwaukee not to have its own Starbucks. And that's about to change. The chain is expected to open a store in a retail center at Moorland and Janesville roads that is now under construction. The center also may include a frozen yogurt shop.
