4-Mile Road Open by Weekend

Good news! 4-Mile Road from Douglas Avenue east to Charles Street is expected to fully open by the weekend.

Caledonia Utility District Manager Bob Lui confirmed Tuesday that his crews are pouring concrete and finishing work this week.

"Assuming the rain hold off Wednesday, we should be able to stick to the schedule and have the road open for traffic by the weekend," he said.

4-Mile has been closed since June 3 for work replacing and repairing sections of sewer along the roadway that is part of the planned sewer work in the Kremer subdivision just a few blocks south.

Lui estimated work would take about two weeks. Racine County is planning a major resurfacing of 4-Mile later this year.
