Blockbuster Closed For Good In Caledonia

Customers thanked for their business, but the video rental company is done in Racine County.

The Blockbuster store at 5055 Douglas Avenue shuttered its doors Monday night.

Customers looking for a rental were greeted with an empty, but well lit parking lot. Hand-written signs posted on the doors thanked them for the patronage, but indicated that they were closed for business.

The store was the last one to close in Racine County. In March the 5201 Washington Ave. in Racine and 1104 Milwaukee Ave.,Burlington locations were closed. In September the company filed for Chapter 11 and said it planned to keep stores open and vowed to reorganize, but apparently those plans did not include Racine County.
