Homeowner Cited for Keeping Disorderly House

A Caledonia homeowner was cited over the holiday weekend for partying a little too hard after police responded to three noise complaints in four hours.

Officers reported noise complaints just after 7 p.m. May 25 in the 4500 block of Highway H that turned out to be a party with a live band. Police advised the homeowner there are village ordinances about live bands and amplified music so the man agreed to stop the band and only play the radio at an acceptable level.

Three hours later, CPD responded again to the residence because of noise complaints and this time ordered the music turned off. The homeowner complied, but party-goers weren’t so accepting and shouted that officers were racist while flashing gang signs but didn't do anything else.

An hour after CPD left - around 11 p.m. - another noise complaint came in and this time officers issued a citation to the homeowner for keeping a disorderly house. Officers stayed on scene while the man announced the party was over and his guests cleared out.
