Kids Fish Free at Racine Quarry

Saturday event focuses on boat safety and fishing

This Saturday, kids can learn about fishing and boating at a free event at the Racine Quarry.

Kangaroo Kayaking is working with the Salmon Unlimited and the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources to put on a "Kids Free Fishing Clinic" from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on April 16 at Quarry Lake Park, 3800 Northwestern Ave.

Kids will be able to fish (without a license), learn about boat and kayak safety, and practice knot tying with Boy Scouts from Troop 199.

Kids who complete all the stations will receive a free hot dog, pop and chips. There will also be prizes given away throughout the day.

For more information, contact Jeff Camell of Kangaroo Kayaking at 414-708-7897.
