Make a Difference in the Life of Unified Students

Schools of Hope needs volunteers to tutor students in reading. Anyone interested is invited to the information session at 9 a.m. Tuesday.

Schools of Hope will host an information meeting about volunteering at area schools at 9 a.m. at United Way of Racine, 2000 Domanik Drive.

Tutors spend an hour a week with one or two children at designated Racine Unified elementary schools, helping students improve their reading skills.

No prior tutoring or teaching experience is required, just a positive attitude and the desire to help students succeed.

For a first-hand account of how this program benefits both the students and the tutors, read about Denise Lockwood's experience here.
