Winter's Finally Here... Enjoy the Snow!

Thursday's storm is expected to bring a blanket of white, and with it comes the chance to enjoy classic winter activities. Check out our lists of places to sled, ice skate and other ideas for winter fun.

Go sledding!

There are places close to every community where you can grab a sled and feel the thrill of racing down a steep slope. Check out our list of favorite sledding hills in southeastern Wisconsin, and maybe find a new one to enjoy.

Backyard, neighborhood and fun farther afield

Snow doesn't mean you have to stay inside (though this is a perfect weekend to bake cookies and have hot cocoa while getting ready for Christmas). If you want to get outdoors to enjoy the winter—whether it's to the back yard, someplace in town or a day trip—Patch has ideas ready for you.

Lace up the skates

With the cold finally here, area ice rinks are freezing over and ready for skating. From the Downtown Milwaukee rink at Red Arrow Park to smaller community rinks like the one in Greendale, there are lots of options for this old-fashioned family pastime.
