Schools of Hope Informational Session

Schools of Hope provides young children with tutors on a regular basis to increase reading achievement in the early grades. Since October 2012, Schools of Hope volunteers have provided over 1,500 hours of tutoring. During the spring 2013 semester, 168 volunteer tutors read with 257 students from 38 classrooms at four schools.

At least 300 tutors are needed to work with students at Fratt, Giese, Janes, North Park, Olympia Brown, Roosevelt, S.C. Johnson, and Wadewitz elementary schools in the fall of 2013.

In just one hour per week, you can make a difference in a child’s life! No previous experience is needed. Any interested adult will be trained to tutor students in first through third grade. Tutoring occurs during school hours. Learn how to become a tutor by visiting www.unitedwayracine.org/tutor-interest-form or by contacting Jessica Safransky Schacht at 262-898-2251.
