OBITUARY: Einer G. Svendsen

Einer was a machine operator at Twin Disc, was a member of the Lutheran Chapel of the Cross and was married to his wife Marion for 38 years.

Einer G. Svendsen, 86, passed away at Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare on Saturday, August 4, 2012.

Einer was born in Superior, Nebraska on June 4, 1926 to Marius and Marie (nee: Gregersen) Svendsen. He married Marion J. Walker in Racine in 1974. Einer was employed as a machine operator at Twin Disc for 32 years until his retirement in 1988. He was a member of Lutheran Chapel of the Cross and the 20 year club at Twin Disc. Einer enjoyed woodworking, traveling, crossword puzzles and reading. He was a volunteer at Lutheran High Thrift Shop.

Einer is lovingly survived by his wife, Marion J. Svendsen; 4 sons and a daughters-in-law, Charles (Ellen) Svendsen of Racine, Tom (Renee) Svendsen of Milwaukee, Paul (Gay) Walker of Galax, VA and Jim (Karen) Walker of Gainesville, GA; 2 daughters and sons in law, Ruth (Jeff) Svedsen-Martinkoski of Greendale and Linda (Jim) Kramer of Racine; grandchildren, David, Damione, Brian, Angela, Angelique, Joshua, Sarah, Eric, Amanda, Steven and Stephanie; 10 great grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ruben Svendsen, Raymond (Marge) Svendsen, Alvin Svendsen and Vern (Willine) Svendsen all of Racine and sister in law, Florence Svendsen. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Einer was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Marius; sisters and brothers- in-law, Anina (Lawrence) Jacobsen and Edith (Harold) Juul and mother in law, Edith Scheller and sisters-in-law, Evelyn and Janet Svendsen.

A memorial service for Einer will be held at Lutheran Chapel of the Cross, 1426 North Fancher Road on Saturday, August 11, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. In lieu of flowers memorials to the church have been suggested.

The family would like to thank the Emergency Room Staff and Intensive Care Unit Staff for their excellent care.
