OBITUARY: Erwin Schroeder

Erwin Schroeder served his country and his family. He was 83-years-old when he died on Friday. He leaves behind his wife, two children and four grandchildren.

Erwin H Schroeder left this earth to be with his angel friends on Friday.
Erwin was born in Racine Wisconsin at the "old St Lukes Hospital" on July 21, 1928. He was the son of the late Erwin A and Martha (Tschirdewan) Schroeder. He graduated from Horlick High School in Racine Wisconsin. On August 5th, 1951, he married the former Marie Siefert in San Rafael, CA.
Erwin later served four years in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. In 1983, he retired after 33 yrs of service in Racine Post Office as a Letter Carrier. He was a member of the VFW Post 1391, American Legion Post 310, National Association of Letter Carriers Branch 436, and Emmanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Erwin is survived by his wife of 61 years, Marie (nee, Siefert) Schroeder, two daughters Linda (Randy) Wolfman of Rochester, MN and Janet (Dennis) Butteris of Dodgeville, WI; four grandchildren Elisha Wolfman (Justin Thomas), Rachel Wolfman, Christopher Butteris, and Bradley Butteris; one brother Arthur (Margaret) Schroeder of Montana; sister-in-law Jane Siefert of Colorado, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday July 24th, 2012 at Emmanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, 725 High Street, Racine, WI with visitation one hour before the service at the church. Private burial services will be at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove at a later date. In lieu of flowers, family requests memorials to Emmanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, Racine, WI 53402.
