OBITUARY: Viola B. Pishny

Viola Pischney, 101, of Caledonia, worked at SC Johnson for 10 years, was one of the first to graduate from Horlick High School and was a member of the Tabor Turner Girls Society.

Viola B. Pishny, nee, Johnson, 101, passed away at Lincoln Village Convalescent Center on Saturday, August 25, 2012.

Viola was born in Racine on September 30, 1910 to Hans and Inger (nee, Ellefson) Johnson. She was educated in Racine area schools and graduated from the first class of Wm. Horlick High School in 1929. She was a former employee of S.C. Johnson for 10 years. On January 21, 1939 she was united in marriage to William F. Pishny and moved to the Pishny Farm in Caledonia. William preceded her in death on December 27, 1989. Viola was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, St. Paul's Senior Center, Tabor Turner Girls Society and CSA Fraternal Society.

Viola is survived by many special nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, and friends. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Henry Johnson, Roy Johnson, Walter (Helen) Johnson, Erling (Agnes) Johnson and Robert (Berniece) Johnson; sister, Alice (August) Sass; nieces and nephews, Doris Gulbrandson, Kathleen Welton, Penny Gulbrandson, Betty Girard, Jon Gulbrandson and Erling Johnson Jr.

Funeral services for Viola will be held at the Mound Cemetery Chapel, 1147 West Blvd., on Friday, August 31, 2012, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Roger Black officiating. Entombment will follow at Mound Cemetery. A visitation will be held at the Mound Cemetery Chapel on Friday morning from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorials may be directed to St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
The family is very grateful to the staff's of Lincoln Village Convalescent Center and Harmony Assisted Living for their kind and compassionate care of our Aunt Viola.
