The Turner Syndrome Society of the United States has chosen Racine as the home for Wisconsin's 5K Butterfly Walk for Turner Syndrome Awareness.Turner Syndrome is a non inherited genetic disorder that affects 1 in 2,000 live female births. Only 1 percent of affected fetuses survive until birth. The syndrome affects many aspects of the girls/women's lives with a range of issues that can include: short stature, heart defects, kidney issues, learning disorders, hearing and vision loss, autoimmune disorders just to name a few. Currently we have 91 families registered with the society from right here in southeastern Wisconsin and the number is growing. Please join us to help raise awareness. Walker registration with T-shirt is $15, without a T-shirt is $5. Proceeds from the walk support local events and programs as well as national programs.
