At Least One Person Taken To The Hospital in Two-Car Crash

Car crashes are common on Middle Road at Cardinal Drive, say residents after a two car crash happened at 10:54 a.m. Tuesday morning.

With two people in both cars, at least one person was taken by ambulance to the hospital. It is unclear who was cited for causing the crash and police were still investigating.

A couple, who wished not to be named, said the driver of a silver car was turning left into his driveway when an oncoming car crashed into in and smashed the car into a telephone pole.

The couple said they have been trying to get a stop sign on the north side of Middle Road and Five Mile Road for years.

"People coming down on Middle Road by the convenience store come through there at a pretty good clip and then they don't realize there is a corner there. The problem is that it doesn't slow them down," the man said.

Over the years the couple hasn't let their children or their grandchildren go past a tree in the yard when they play because traffic travels to fast around the curve. They've lost garbage cans and mailboxes, and had school buses and cars in their ditch. They even told the school bus company they wouldn't allow their kids to stand at the end of their driveway to pick up their children.

"Maybe we should go to the village now and ask for a stop sign," the man said.
