Caledonia Firefighters Collect For A Cause

For at least 20 years, the Caledonia Firefighters fund-raise for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

Jeff Erickson, the MDA coordinator for the Department, said they have been working with MDA to raise money for at least 20 years. For four hours the group of firefighters usually collects about $2,000.

Muscular Dystrophy describes a group of neuromuscular diseases.

"We stand out on the corner with our boots and everyone helps the fight against muscular dystrophy by donating to MDA," he said. "We call it a voluntary toll and people are pretty receptive. A lot of people clean out the change in their ashtrays."
