Caledonia Man Arrested For Allegedly Beating His Girlfriend And Threatening Her With A Hammer

A 20-year-old man is accused of beating his girlfriend and threatening her with a hammer, according to a police report by the Caledonia Police Department.

The man was arrested for battery and disorderly conduct after police responded to his residence in the 7000 block of Paul Bunyan Road at 2:03 a.m. Friday, Nov. 25.

A witness called the police after he heared a man yelling at a woman from outside the street. When the witness looked inside the home through a window, he saw the man with a hammer actiting aggressively, but he didn't see the man strike anyone.

When police arrived, they found the man inside the home standing over the woman yelling at her in the bathroom. They noted the woman had marks on her shoulders and the woman told the police that the man had caused the injuries.

The man told police he and the woman live together, that they had been arguing for days and had decided to spend some time apart during the holidays. When the woman came home, he told police he was sleeping and had his door locked. The woman got angry with him and accused him of sleeping with another woman. The man, who had not been drinking, also told police he got angry because the woman had been dropped off by other men.
