Caledonia Police arrested a man involved in two hit and run crashes that happened within a few minutes of one another on Wednesday.

Michael R. Jorgenson, 20, of Caledonia, was arrested for suspicion of drunken driving, not having his headlights on, reckless driving, and hit and run property damage along a highway, according to a report by the Caledonia Police Department.

Jorgensen allegedly rear ended a truck on Three Mile Road and North Green Bay Road, fled the scene in his car and then smashed his mother’s 2005 Acura into a fence in the 3400 block of Shorewood Drive at 8:53 p.m. Nov. 2. When a witness came to help, Jorgensen told him he had four DUIs and he should not call the police. Jorgensen then reportedly fled on foot. He was later taken into custody by police after they found him at his residence.
