A 20-year-old man was found walking in the middle of the road. He said he had been drinking at home, but for some reason he didn't want to go back to his home.

After admitting that he had been drinking, a Caledonia man ended up on the wrong end of a Taser after a run-in with police officers.

Lane D. Stewart, 20, of , was cited for underage drinking (second offense) and littering at 7:28 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 12, 2012, according to a report by the Caledonia Police Department.

Stewart was walking in the middle of the southbound lane of traffic on Higway 38 near Brook Road. Police smelled alcohol on Stewart’s breath and noted that Stewart “stumbled on some of his words."

Stewart admitted to drinking at his home, but he refused to do a Breathalyzer test. Police gave Stewart a ride to his home. After the officer handed Stewart the citation, he threw it on the ground and asked if he could get out of the squad car.

The officer told Stewart he wasn’t finished explaining the citation and another officer picked the citation up and handed it back to him. When Stewart got out of the car he “again threw the citation in the air," according to the report.

While the officer was giving Stewart a citation for littering, he started walking towards Highway 38. Police instructed Stewart to stop, but he continued walking away from his home and started talking on his cell phone.

After ordering Stewart to go back to his house and refusing, the officer pulled out his Taser and told him “to go home.” Steward said he would, but as he walked away he told them to “go catch some bad guys.”
