Three Men Drive While Allegedly Drunk Or On Meds

The fifth was not a charm

A man was arrested under suspicion of drunk driving (fifth offense) at 2:30 a.m. Sunday, July 10 in the 3500 block of North Green Bay Road.

According to a report by the Caledonia Police Department, Christopher Roushia, 32, of Racine, was initially stopped for going 53 mph in a 35 mph zone.

Police noted that Roushia smelled like alcohol and asked him if he had been drinking. They gave him a field sobriety test and he failed it. He was taken to the hospital for a legal blood draw. He was also cited for not having a Wisconsin driver’s license.

A man was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence at 3:31 a.m. Saturday, July 9 in the 5100 block of Highway 31.

Kory Braun, 18, of Caledonia, was arrested for taking sleep medication and driving. According to a report by the Caledonia Police Department, Braun was found in his car flashing his hazard lights and police thought he might be having car trouble. Police noted his movements were slow and asked him if he had been drinking. Braun denied drinking, but admitted to having taken sleep medication because he had been having trouble sleeping, he said.

A preliminary Breathalyzer test showed Braun hadn’t been drinking, but he failed the field sobriety test. They took him to the hospital for a legal blood draw. No charges have been filed with the Racine County. They are waiting until the results of the blood test come back.

A man smoked synthetic marijuana and was laying in a yard saying he was having a heart attack at 8:26 p.m. Saturday, July 9 in the 7600 block of Lakeshore Drive.

According to a report by the Caledonia Police Department, a 19-year-old man was “shaking and sweating uncontrollably” after he smoked Extreme XXX he bought from a local gas station. The man was taken and treated at the hospital.

Martin Sechrist, 46, of Chicago, was arrested for suspicion of drunk driving after he was found passed out at 2:46 p.m. Thursday, July 7 in the parking lot at Economy Motors, 5913 Douglas Ave.

According to a report by the Caledonia Police Department, Sechrist was found “half naked” and sitting in his car. He told officers he had been drinking “a little,” but they found a ¾ full bottle of gin was found in the car.

Sechrist failed a field sobriety test. A Breathalyzer test showed his blood-alcohol content was .256.
