Caledonia Police Officer Involved In A Car Crash On His Way To An Accident

Racine County Sheriff's Department is investigating the crash.

A Caledonia Police Officer, David Rewolinski, was driving a squad to the scene of a car crash when a car struck his squad Friday afternoon on Highway 31.

Assistant police chief, John Barnes, said the car that struck Rewolinski was pulling out onto Highway 31 from West Johnson. Rewolinsk was traveling northbound on Highway 31 and was on his way to a car crash on Three Mile Road and Wyoming Way.

“He (Rewolinski) was headed to the scene of a car crash with lights and sirens on when the car pulled out in front of him,” Barnes said. “He tried to take evasive action to avoid hitting the other car, but was unable to avoid the crash.”
