An 18-year-old Caledonia man is facing drug charges after police found drugs and a gun inside his bedroom while serving a search warrant.
Ryan T. Hewett was charged in Racine County Circuit Court Tuesday with one count of maintaining a drug trafficking place, one count of possession of THC, the active ingredient in marijuana, and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. If convicted, he faces up to four years in prison and $11,500 in fines.
According to the criminal complaint:
On March 16, officers with the Racine County Metro Drug Unit served a search warrant on Hewett’s home in the 6900 block of Revere Road, where they found marijuana, scales, paraphernalia and a loaded handgun in his bedroom.
Hewett first said he buys “quarters” of marijuana, which he mainly smokes, but sometimes sells. He then changed his story several times saying he gets his weed from Palmyra and had just sold half an ounce of marijuana two to three weeks before the raid.
He’s currently free on a $10,000 signature bond while awaiting trial.
