CRIME BLOTTER: Guns And Jewelry Taken

The following information was supplied by the Caledonia Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

  • Five rifles and four boxes of ammunition were taken from a barn in the 11900 block of 6 and a Half Mile Road sometime between 7 p.m. Aug. 27 and 7 a.m. Aug. 29. According to a report by the , a window was broken out on the south side of the barn, then able to unlock a large window by unlatching it. The guns were in a padlocked locker.
  • Five pieces of jewelry were taken from a locked safe sometime between midnight Feb. 16 and 11:25 a.m. Sept. 6 at a residence in the 600 block of Hialeah Drive. The estimated value of the jewelry is $3,000. The homeowner’s daughter said she kept her jewelry at the house because her “neighborhood is getting bad” on Blaine Avenue.
