According to reports, golfball-sized pieces of cement were falling from the bridge about 9:30 a.m., creating a traffic hazard.

The Racine County Highway Department is looking at the bridge. Officials are not yet sure when traffic will reopen.

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation is reporting the following detour:

Eastbound motorists should take Sylvania Avenue south to Grandview Parkway, then go east on Grandview back to Sylvania, south on Sylvania to 58th Road, west on 58th to Sylvania, and south on Sylvania to Highway 11. Motorists can re-enter the interstate at Highway 11.
