King's Wok Thief Found, But Caledonia Police Won't Pursue Charges

Man took about $20 to $50.

Officials with the Caledonia Police Department know who took money from a tip jar at a local restaurant, but the man won’t be arrested, officials said.

After media outlets posted video and photos of a man caught taking money from King’s Wok, 5131 Douglas Ave., on Friday, May 6, the man’s mother called the police and said the man in the video was her son. However, the man has a mental illness, and his family had already called the business to make restitution and had taken steps to seek additional help for the man. So, no arrest will be made, said Sgt. Gary Larsen.

“We just really felt like this issue was resolved,” Larsen said. “So we’re not pursuing charges.”
