Man Charged in Connection with Numerous Burglaries

Investigators say Timothy Staggers took tools, guns and a motorcycle from numerous businesses in Waukesha, Oneida and Racine counties.

A man is accused of taking guns, a motorcycle and thousands of dollars worth of tools from businesses, one of which is in Caledonia.

The Racine County District Attorney’s Office charged Timothy Staggers, 31, of Racine, with receiving stolen property, burglary of a building or dwelling, and theft today.

If convicted of all charges, Staggers faces up to 24 years in prison and fines up to $45,000.

According to the criminal complaint, small motorcycle and motorcycle were taken from Zone 2 Extreme, 4543 Douglas Ave., on June 29, 2009.

When deputies searched Staggers’ home and storage unit in July 2009, they found tools, firearms and a motorcycle. The motorcycle was the one stolen from Zone 2 Extreme. The tools, which were valued at $2,500, were stolen during three burglaries in Waukesha. The two guns, a Remington 870 and a Ruger M77-7 mL rifle, were stolen during a burglary from a residence in Oneida County.

Staggers admitted to doing the burglaries in Caledonia, Waukesha County and Oneida County. A preliminary hearing has been set for 8:30 a.m. March 24.
