Mom Arrested for Heroin After Passing Out in Bathroom

A Caledonia mom is facing drug charges after police say she used heroin in her bathroom and then passed out.

Caledonia police say a man called for police and rescue after he found his wife unresponsive in their bathroom with a needle sticking out of her arm. Now, she faces drug charges.

Lisa Lenkart, 22, was charged Thursday in Racine County Circuit Court with one felony count of possession of narcotic drugs, one count of misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia and two misdemeanor counts of bail jumping.

According to the criminal complaint, CAPD was called to Lenkart's home Wednesday because her husband found her passed out in the bathroom with a syringe sticking out of her arm. A second syringe was found on the floor, and officers were told Lenkart has a history of heroin use and the man suspected that was what she'd been using before she lost consciousness.

The man told police that Lenkart called him from Arlington Heights, IL, earlier that same day because she'd been in a car accident. When he picked her up, the complaint reads, Lenkart seemed disoriented. When the man asked how she ended up in Illinois, she blamed her confusion on a recently prescribed mental health medication she was taking.

The man told officers that Lenkart stumbled around their apartment for a while, nearly falling on top of their six-month-old baby.

Shortly after rescue started to examine Lenkart, officers say she came to and admitted she'd been using heroin, but she wouldn't tell police where or from whom she got the drugs.

The man gave officers permission to search the backpack Lenkart had with her when he picked her up in Illinois. Inside, police say they found a third syringe full of a clear liquid Lenkart said could be "water, or maybe dope."

Lenkart remains in the Racine County Jail on a $2,000 cash bond. She will have her preliminary hearing Aug. 21.
